New acrylic paintings available

Finished some smaller acrylic works a couple weeks ago, which you can see under “my artwork” and “acrylics”.  Some of these are as small as 4″x4″ and priced at only $25.00.  Easy to ship.

I also finally finished the commission work of the pig paintings.  I completed 3 and they chose 2 of those to purchase, which means there’s also another medium-sized acrylic work for sale.  Check it out under my “acrylics” link.

Latest adoption news

Well, adoption is certainly a lesson in patience.  I was extremely fortunate to have my paperwork pass the MOE in country on April 28th.  This major milestone could not have come at a better time.  I wasn’t expecting to get to that point until sometime in June, but apparently I have a guardian angel looking out for me because only 2 weeks & 2 days later, Kazakhstan put all paperwork on hold until they update their processes to comply with the Hague.  Anyone (like myself) who has passed the MOE will continue on as normal.  Phew!!!  Now I’m in the waiting process again, & continually working & fundraising to gather the approx. $50,000 required for the adoption.  So far, I’m halfway there.

Past and Future events

Well, I’ve participated in a couple art events over the past couple months…4th Friday’s at StudioPlex on March 26th, and Sfumato at the CoLaboratory on April 24th.  Both received pretty good feedback & attendance.

Upcoming…nothings definite yet on art shows, but I’m considering being part of the 4th Friday’s event again on May 28th.  Not sure if the holiday weekend will help or hinder that event.

The auction has come & gone, but more artwork remains for sale.

If you were unable to make it to the silent auction on December 5th, or if you know of anyone who might be interested in making a purchase, artwork is still available for sale at retail value.    Currently, I am investigating adding a pay pal option to this site for ease of purchase.  However, in the mean time, you may contact me by clicking on the contacts tab at the top & let me know which piece(s) you are interested in & a contact e-mail.  I will not post your comment, so your e-mail address will remain private only to me & I will reach out to you off-line.

In an effort to raise funds, I am extending the sale through January 31, 2010.  All items purchased by or before that date will recieve 25% off retail value.  If you are outside the Atlanta area for delivery, an additional cost will be added for shipping.  Once I know which piece(s) to ship, I will notify you of the cost based on size & weight.

What is a silent auction?

Instead of the auctioneer rattling off amounts & you raising a placard to outbid your opponent for the artwork you cannot go home without, you bid silently (of course).  Bid sheets will be placed next to each work.  These sheets will state something about the artist as well as the minimum bid allowed on the piece, incremental amounts for competing bids, and the retail value.  Bidders will write in their name & their bid amount on the sheet and anyone else wishing to bid higher will list their name & their higher bid amount.  This will continue throughout the evening until bidding is called to a halt.  At that time, the highest bid on the sheet will win & get to purchase & go home with their new artistic treasure.
